Black Jack takes honors in Brisbane – Gladstone

The Brisbane to Gladstone yacht race favorite has taken out lines of honor for the 3rd year in a row. This afternoon, Black Jack sailed into the Gladstone Harbour to get the prize. The yearly race sees participants travel 308 NM from Redcliffe, north of Brisbane, to Gladstone in the Central Queensland.

Scotland yacht charter stopped that from happening. But Mark Bradford, Black Jack’s Skipper, stated that they would return to try and beat it in the year 2017. He told that unfortunately the weather was not on our side this year but hopefully they would be back.

The seventy foot yacht was met on the water by Gladstone’s brand new Mayor Matt Burnett. He gave the crew the traditional prize of the race — 2 cartons of beer. Mr Burnett told that the race was the foreground of his calendar.

He stated that he believes that you would find at the Christmas time that there is a little yacht race which leaves Sydney and ends in Hobart. But at Easter time the best race in the whole of Australia leaves Brisbane and arrives here in the beautiful city of Gladstone.
The remaining yachts in the pack are expected to end over the rest of the weekend.
