Sailing Antigua exists to offer excellence in two areas. First, it hopes to promote and therfore preserve traditional boat building in the Caribbean and secondly it hopes to offer guests a chance to experience the authentic caribbean day sailing experience.
Sailing Antigua is the sailing part of Adventure Antigua which was started by Eli Fuller back in 1999. Eli is a local Antiguan who was known to most people around the island for his windsurfing which helped him travel around the world including all the way to the 1988 Olympics. Adventure Antigua was started by Eli to show people areas off the beaten track and his snorkeling tours always have themes of ecology and history. Adventure Antigua's first boat was a locally made "pirogue" which is a small open powerboat. To learn more about the history of the company click on the image.
Eli is extremely dedicated to keeping Adventure Antigua a locally run organization. With so many others springing up each year owned and operated by people who have just arrived in Antigua, he feels that it is important to both local Antiguan's as well as to our visitors to keep the tours of Antigua run by people from here so that the authentic Caribbean experience can be offered and saved.
